It was a big final for the Melbourne Stars. They had achieved 50% of their target of the match. Melbourne Stars had won the toss and they decided to bat first against Melbourne Renegades in the Big Bash League Final 2018.

Their strike bowlers bowl really very well. The bowling was on some very tight lines. They did not allow the batsmen to give any room to score the boundaries. Now, it was the responsibility of the batsmen of Melbourne Stars to do the remaining 50% job for the team.

145 was not a big total. They have required a good partnership in the start to win the game. It was Ben Dunk and Marcus Stoinis who open the innings for Melbourne stars. KW Richardson bowls the first over to Ben Dunk. Ben Dunk was very careful to play the ball.

It was very important for both of the teams to create early necessary pressure upon the opposition. Ben Dunk and Marcus Stoinis played some really good shots against the opposition. Ben Dunk hit a beautiful six over mid-wicket which exerts the whole pressure to Melbourne Renegades.

Melbourne Stars were playing to their potential. Both the openers were batting naturally and playing their usual shots. Both the openers provided a solid start of 93 runs to their team after facing 12.5 overs. They had absorbed almost whole the pressure of the Big Bash League Final 2018 from the top of the innings.


Now, only 51 more runs to win the final of Big Bash League Final 2018 from 49 balls with all the wickets remaining with Melbourne Stars. Aron Finch had tried his best and he had changed any number times the bowlers but everything was going against him.

CJ Boyce did not have a good time with the bowl today. He was hit all over the ground. Two sixes had been scored against him. BJ Boyce bowls a tricky bowl ball to Marcus Stoinis who was going a run ball in his innings. Marcus missed the ball and the ball hit the stumps.

It was the first breakthrough for Melbourne Renegades who took the first wicket at 93 runs after 12.6 over been bowled. Aron Finch made a good bowling change and brought back CP Tremain who bowls some good deliveries in his initial spell of bowling.

CP Tremain proved his captain’s decision as right. Peter Handscomb played his very second ball and edged to Daniel Christian. Melbourne Stars were 2 wickets down. Their total was 94 runs at 13.3 overs.

Melbourne Stars were under pressure straight away. They had lost 2 core batsmen from the top order line. Ben Dunk was playing a responsible innings he had absorbed a lot of pressure up in the innings. But he was under pressure after the loss of 2 quick wickets.


Ben Dunk tried to play a pull shot against CJ Boyce but he also edged to Mr. Daniel Christian’s very safe hands. Melbourne Stars were now 3 wickets down on 99 runs after facing 14.6 overs. Now, 47 runs needed from 36 balls, the wickets were trembling for Melbourne Stars and the required run rate was increasing.

Glenn Maxwell is the captain of the team. He had to finish the game in style. But he played absolutely nothing shot and threw his wicket away. Melbourne Stars were 4 down for 99 runs after facing 15.1 overs.

Melbourne Renegades had a tremendous come back in the innings. They had picked 4 wickets from the top order of Melbourne Stars. And the required run rate had risen above 8 runs and over. Melbourne stars had lost their top order very quickly and they were collapsing at the moment in the big final of BBL 2019.


It was Nick Madison who tried to control the pressure of the match and increasing required run rate and played a pull shot but he falls CJ Gourney after scoring only 6 runs off 7 balls. Seb Gotch had faced only 5 balls for his 2 runs and he falls on 108 runs to Medium fast bowler Daniel Christian.

Melbourne Stars were 6 wickets down for 108 runs on the board. Melbourne Stars had lost their top 6 wickets for just 15 runs. It was big setback for them and Melbourne Renegades had created some really good pressure upon the opposition.

Dwayne Bravo the senior player in the team fall on 112 runs 3 runs from 3 balls. At this point, the chances for winnings the big final game of BBL 2019 was diminishing with every ball bowled.

Melbourne Stars were managing to score only 132 runs on the board after facing 20 overs and they had lost Big Bash League Final 2018 their 7 wickets. It was a big victory for Melbourne Renegades who won the final match of Big Bash League 2019 by 13 runs margin.
