Do you know the game of Test Cricket? In this post, we are going to talk about the first test match between Pakistan and Australia. It was the opening Test match for the test series. The first Test match played at Brisbane Cricket Ground, Australia.
Pakistan’s record against Australia in Australia is not good. It always struggled to bat and bowl in Australia. For the opening Test match, the wicket was perfect for bat in the first innings. Pakistan won the toss and decided to bat first.
PAKISTAN’S 1ST INNINGS:
Shan Masood and Azhar Ali open the batting for Pakistan. Pakistan needed a good and solid start for upcoming batsmen to bat. Both the openers provided a reasonable start of 75 runs. Shan Masood falls for Pat Cummins on a straightforward delivery. Steve Smith took the catch standing next to the keeper.
Azhar Ali also lost his concentration and edged the ball to the first slip. It was a very disappointing end to both openers. Pakistan was 7 down at 78 runs. It was collapse for Pakistan. Pakistani batsmen were finding themselves difficult to settle on the bouncy and pacy wicket.
Therefore, the quick fall of 4 wickets created pressure on Pakistan to come back in the Test game. In no time, Australian bowlers kept taking wickets at regular intervals. They never allowed any batsmen to settle down on the pitch. Because of the pace attack of Aussies, it was harder to get runs against them.
