Australia won the toss and decided to bat first against Pakistan in the 2nd Test. It was not a good start for Australia as they lose their first wicket for just 8 runs on the board. J. Burns caught out on Shaheen Shah’s quick delivery. Therefore, David Warner and M. Labuschagne took charge from there.
They hit the Pakistani bowlers all around the ground. Pakistani Test captain made the bowling changes but all in vain. David Warner and M. Labuschagne created a partnership of 361 runs against Pakistan. It is the highest 2nd Wicket partnership by Australia in Tests against Pakistan.
On the 2nd day of the test match, M. Labuschagne was bowled out by the quick and fast delivery by Sheen Shah Afridi. Australia lose their 2nd wicket for 389 runs. Therefore, Australia was in a comfortable position to score big in the 1st Innings. However, Australia declared its 1st innings at 589 for the lost of 3 wickets.
PAKISTAN’S 1ST INNINGS:
Pakistan Vs Australia: Post Match Discussion post is here. It was a big total for Pakistan in the 1st innings. Pakistan did not have many sources to cover this total in the 1st innings. Pakistan always remains under pressure against bigger totals. They lost its six wickets for just 89 runs.

Yasir Shah scored the 1st ever Test hundred in his Test math career. It was a historical moment for Yasir Shah to enjoy his 1st Test hundred against Australia and in Australia. Pakistan manage to score 302 runs at the end of its 1st innings. They were suffering from follow on. Australia put Pakistan again to bat rather than going to bat their 2nd innings.
PAKISTAN’S 2ND INNINGS:
Pakistan was very under pressure in the 2nd innings. They have to recover from 287 runs from its 1st innings. Again, it was a very poor start for Pakistan. They lost their top order for only 20 runs on the board. Shan Masood and Asad Shafique manage to score their Test fifties. But their hard work could not save the team from another loss.
